Paul Ticen is an associate at Schneider & Onofry and a 2006 graduate of the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.  He defends corporations and individuals in personal injury and wrongful death claims in the areas of general and dram shop liability.  His experience in general liability has involved premises liability, including cases with suspected fraudulent activity.  His experience in dram shop has involved defending bars and night clubs from allegations of serving alcoholic beverages to intoxicated persons or minors resulting in automobile accidents and violent acts such as gun shootings and assaults.

Paul has represented insurance companies in large loss property subrogation cases, involving fire and water losses arising from product defect, installation error and other causes.  He handled cases in Arizona, California and Washington and was actively involved in the origin and cause investigation undertaken shortly after the loss occurred.  He has experience with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 921 (Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations) and 25 (Standard for the Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems).  His experience in products liability includes defending claims involving food products and appliances.

Paul conducts pre-lawsuit investigations to gather information and preserve evidence, enabling clients to assess potential exposure to a civil lawsuit. 

Prior to entering the legal profession, Paul worked as a claims professional for more than six years with a local insurance company and with a claims management company where he was quickly promoted from personal automobile claims to handling litigated claims.  As a Litigation Specialist, he provided representation at numerous mediations and settlement conferences throughout California .  He also was selected by the company's Special Investigations Unit to handle litigated files involving suspected fraudulent claims. 

Paul handled commercial claims, including commercial automobile, trucking, general liability and liquor liability claims.  He handled high exposure claims and has a lot of experience negotiating settlements.  His representation was in both pre-lawsuit and post-lawsuit mediations throughout the country.

Paul played intercollegiate baseball at Washington State University for two years. He is an avid college football and professional baseball fan.  He is a certified CrossFit trainer, and is a member of Competitive Fitness, a CrossFit affiliate in Chandler.  Paul is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Arizona Insurance Claims Association.
